Katie

Just wanted to post a quick update - Katie has had a little setback. She's having trouble eating on her own, so she's in a local hospital in New York until she's doing a little better.

Anna and Nicholas are eating well, and I can't wait until they're all home for good, so I can go and take lots of pics of them at home!

Will update again when I have more info.

Grandma P.

I had to make this a post...

I have now held, fed, changed and loved everyone of my Beautiful Grandchildren! This has been the most scary yet one of the most blessed experiences of my life! Their pictures do not do them justice! Add their personalities to their pictures and you have Sarah and Louie at their finest! We are so fortunate to have them home..safe, healthy and happy. Welcome Home Sarah, Louie, Anna, Katie and Nicholas.
Love,Grandma P.

They're Home!

I've waited for months to share this news!

Last night Sarah called me at about 7pm, and she left this message on my voicemail...

"Gretch, we're driving back to New York... with all 3 babies!"

It sounds like everything unfolded pretty quickly, and the 2 girls were ready to go home earlier than planned. So, they packed up the bare necessities in Burlington and headed home.

They'll be coming back to Burlington this weekend to pick up the rest of their belongings and then settling in at home in NY. I miss them already!

Again, I just wanted to remind everyone that the doctors have stressed the importance of keeping visitors to a minimum especially during cold and flu season, and until these little ones build up their immune systems outside of the hospital. So, we just ask that you contact Sarah and Louie before making a trip to the house, and we know you'll all understand if they have to say no to having company for awhile.

Thanks so much,
Gretch

Good News!

Just talked to Sarah! She's heading into the hospital to see the 2 girls.
The doctors recently had some exciting news for them! Katie and Anna are doing great and should be able to go home in about 10 days to 2 weeks!!

Last time I talked with Sarah, the doctors thought that Anna would be the next to go home. I think that's still the plan.

Katie had been having some eating problems, but as of today all looks normal!

Nicholas had his first appointment with the pediatrician today. According to the doctor, he should be gaining an ounce each day. He easily passed the mark and has gained 9 ounces in about 5 days!! What a sweetheart! He's doing great!

Thanks again for showing this amazing family continuous support - as soon as I get to see those babies, I'll have more pics to post!

Love to you all!

Nicholas is Home!

I'm so happy to post this news!! Nicholas is home (in Burlington)!! They released him on Friday! He's eating well, sleeping well, and he's an all-around amazing baby!

The doctors have told Sarah and Louie that they should still keep visitors to a minimum, even at home, especially because of the cold/flu season, since at this age even a cold could be life-threatening to his little body.

I was able to sneak over for a few hours this evening and get some photos (posted below)!

Sarah and Louie are the sweetest parents, and it's so wonderful to see them with Nicholas!

Katie and Anna are still in the hospital, and will hopefully be eating enough to come home soon too!

Thank you all for the continuous support and prayers!

Love to you all,
Gretchin

Quick Update

Hello, all! Just a quick update on the babies-

Nicholas is recovering well after his hernia surgery. They think he might be able to go home soon (hopefully by the weekend)!

The girls are still struggling a bit with feeding issues. The feeding team is working with them, but they may need to be in the hospital longer. Sarah thinks at least a few more weeks before they can go home.

Please keep sending lots of strength and prayers! It must be so frustrating to be so close to getting them all home and to still have to wait longer.

Love and prayers to all of you too,
Gretch
