It has been a while and I am sorry for the delay in the updates-life has been a little busy lately.
I am currently in the hospital with Katie at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake she is here for a few more days and will then be sent to Fletcher Allen Hospital in Vermont for airway and throat testing. Katie is suffering from lots of airway and throat inflammation and because of this has had some difficulty eating. The testing she will have will determine if she will require a surgically placed stomach feeding tube so her airway and throat can heal. Katie has been suffering with this issue since she was still a patient at Fletcher Allen NICU and unfortunately is still struggling every day. The doctors believe this inflammation in her airway and throat is a direct result from having a nerve stunned that controls vocal chord function during her heart surgery in Boston, and severe acid reflux. There is so much involved with the nerve that got stunned and throat function that I just can't keep up. The good news is that Katie is gaining weight and generally acts quite happy considering the constant discomfort she must be in. She is an absolute angel and is loved more than life itself. So off we go back to Vermont for the next couple weeks I expect.
Nicholas and Anna are doing very well at home thank goodness! It is hard having us split up but necessary. I miss the kids so much when I leave. Louie is home with Nicholas and Anna and we have help from our family all the time. It takes a small Army to take care of three kids-trust me!!!
Nicholas is such a love, as long as he is fed and changed he just looks around and smiles or sleeps. I always expected Nicholas to be a handful (as everybody told me boys are) for some reason but he has also proved me wrong. He is wonderful and a super snuggler.
Now Anna is the exact opposite of what I expected ! LOUD LOUD LOUD...I always imagined Anna just quiet and peaceful but she loves to scream out and cry. She has alot of personality and big smiles but loves to hear her own voice. The kids look so much alike, especially the girls but all act so different which I just love.
My children are wonderful miracles and keep us all very very busy! I do not sleep often but it is all worth it. I always remind myself how lucky we were to have brought my 24 week triplets home from the hospital and that all these little "bumps" that we are currently going through will soon be a memory just like the previous months we just went through. We are very blessed and prayers were answered over and over again.
Louie and I would like to send out another huge set of THANK YOU's for all the gifts we have been receiving and for all the prayers and warm wishes we get sent every day! Please know again that nothing goes unnoticed and we are just so blessed to have all the support and encouragment that we have. We are FOREVER THANKFUL for ALL OF YOU!!!
So Katie and I are off to Vermont and I will keep updating as we go. I hope you are all doing well and please know how much we appreciate all of you for being here for us. God Bless and be Well!!!
Love,
Sarah, Louie, Anna, Katie and Nicholas.
More PICS to come soon!
